Recoveries

Louis Carreira with the tagged ulua.

Tyler Matsukawa with the recovered Ulua

On 1/6/2026, we had the first recovery of the year, by Tyler Matsukawa. The tagged fish was an Ulua, A12086, originally caught and tagged by Louis Carreira on 8/30/2025. The fish was at liberty for 129 days between August 30, 2025 and January 6, 2026. The fish traveled from Makapuu to Kualoa, approximately 20 miles during it’s time at liberty in an Easterly direction. Which reflects the general movement of fish counterclockwise. Good going by Louis on a safe release and by Tyler on a nice recovery!
