April Marianas Work Postponed due to Tropical Depression 04W
PUBLIC NOTICE 4/10/2026 ChST
Postponement of Federal Fishery Meetings – Marianas Region
Håfa Adai,
The Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council, in consultation with local partners, has made the decision to cancel the upcoming Federal Fishery Meetings scheduled for the Marianas this coming week.
This decision is based on the anticipated impacts of Typhoon 04W, which is forecasted to pass near Guam between Monday–Tuesday, April 13–14. Out of an abundance of caution, and in alignment with regional weather monitoring and emergency preparedness efforts, we are prioritizing the safety and well-being of community members.
We strongly encourage all residents and stakeholders to remain informed through official weather updates, take necessary precautions, and make appropriate preparations as conditions evolve.
At this time, all public meetings and associated community engagement activities will be postponed. We are committed to rescheduling these meetings at a later date to ensure continued participation and input from the fishing community.
The fishing community remains central to this work. Your knowledge, perspectives, and experiences are essential to informing and strengthening Federal fisheries management across the region, and we remain dedicated to ensuring your voices are heard.
