Guam Fishers Public Meeting Aug 7

PIFG continues to support community resilience and fishers voices across the Pacific.

PIFG traveled to the Marianas to continue on-going work with the Western Pacific Regional Fishery Management Council to support community voices and the on-going Inflation Reduction Act project helping listen to fishing communities and their concerns.

As PIFG has entered year two of the project, to date have completed over 40 public meetings with over 600 hundred comments from fishers. The meeting on August 7th, received participation from over 40 fishers and included updates on the on-going work, a presentation on shark depredation deterrent devices, federal fishery disaster response, and upcoming workshops and events.
